In August Blank Snowboards had an opportunity to participate in a fundraiser for diabetes here in Utah. I can almost guarantee that you know someone that has been affected by diabetes in some way. I recently found out that both my dad and my niece have diabetes, one has Type-A and the other Type-B. Both are serious and have affected their way of life dramatically. One of the owners at Blank Snowboards also has Type-A diabetes, so this is a cause close to all of us here at Blank. After being exposed to the challenges that those with the disease face, I feel that it is a blessing and an obligation to find a cure.
Blank teamed up with Molly’s team and donated a Blank snowboard for an online raffle that was held as a fundraiser at Willard Farms Park in Salt Lake City. Tickets were sold at $5 a piece and everything went down very well, raising over $500. After participating in the fundraiser and 5K walk, enjoying all of the various activities and free food around the farm, I would like to encourage everyone to get involved in a local or national effort to cure diabetes.
Although our part was minuscule, if everyone that knew someone who is affected by this disease could help in a small way I believe that we could all make a big difference.
We would also like to thank Molly and her family for letting Blank Snowboards participate in this fundraiser.
